I am frequently asked by guild members if I know of any tricks to help them make more money in game. I shall review some of my methods here with a detailed walk-through. Hopefully it serves you well. Okay so here goes:
Crew Skills & Crafting Skills
Many of you don't seem to understand the crew skill system (helpful links found under Trial Three). Its a very easy system to operate once you know how it works. You have two variety's of crew missions. The first is Resource Gathering. The second is Crafting Skill. Each craft skill has two resource gathering skills that go hand-in-hand with it. Through the crafting system you can create everything from weapons and armor to stim packs and implants. Anything that you can equip or consume can be created through this system and sold for high profit.
Underworld Metals
These can be gathered through the Underworld Trade skill and for a raw -uncrafted matrial, they still seem to sell for a high profit margine. Any underworld metal lower than rank five is worth harvesting for profit. The most common standard metals are: Terenthium, Mullinine, Xonolite and Titanium. They often sell from anywhere between 900 and 1250 credits per unit. Rare (Purple) underworld metals often sell for an even higher profit. They are: Neuranium, Krayt Dragon Scales and Alusteel. These sell from anywhere between 10,000 and 20,000 per unit.
Flashpoint Equipment
We all know that flashpoints can be a pain in the ass however they are a great way to farm credits. Equipment found in flashpoints often sells to a vender for anywhere between 5,000 and 50,000 per item. Green and blue flashpoint items should always be sold to a vender. Orange and Purple should be sold on the Galactic Trade Network. The harder the flashpoint, the more valuable the equipment. In particular however, there is one flashpoint that can yield fantastic rewards. Boarding Party contains over ten separate security chests and four bosses that drop credits, med packs and rare items as well as commendations. I often run this one solo just to bank off of them.
Warzones
On the whole, these are not the best way to make profit. They do yield a bit of reward however. On average a victory will yield you about 10,000 where as a defeat will yield anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000. They take about twenty minutes to complete and so if your using this as a means of making money, I suggest doing so in between crew skill tasks.
Makeb
When you reach level 50, Makeb becomes a fantastic place to earn credits. The story missions often pay a great deal and there are over twenty daily missions available here that yield profit. On average if I complete even 70% of the missions available any given day, I can walk away with over 100,000 credits!
Seeker Droids
This quest line becomes available at level 50 from the Imperial Fleet. You recieve the seeker droid tool for this quest line and this tool is a fantastic way to earn credits. It operates like a glorified claw machine. You select a location to dig, the claw dips into the ground and pulls out anything from junk to super rare items. It can only be done in specific locations (such as the outlaw's den on tattoine) but often yields a great deal of reward. Most commonly I find Blue quality items of 132 rating, Rank 28 Item Modifications and the occasional Rakata Device. Seeker Droid runs often yield around 30,000 every ten minutes! Some of the rare items found are worth anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 on their own!
THE GALACTIC TRADE MARKET
This is by far the most important tool you need to know how to operate if you want to make credits. Every crew resource or item I find (above green quality), I sell on the GTN. Here is an example of how to operate it. Let's say I have some Xonolite I want to sell. The first step is entering it's name in the "search" field and then arranging the results first by Price. Then by time left on the market.
In this example, say someone else is selling Xonolite for 1250 per unit and their's are for sale for only a few more hours. I would then place mine on the market for 2 Days at a price higher than what is currently being offered. The idea is that when the lower prices expire, I will then control the base price of the metal. This way I can cut prices should someone try to sell for less without having to sell for lower than the metals standard selling price (in this case 1250).
Now lets assume that I run my search and see that someone is selling Xonolite for 1250 and still has two days left on the sale. I would then under cut them by selling all of mine at 1200 per unit. Often I sell in bulk of 80 or more units at a time. When I do I will offer discounts of up to 100 credits cheaper, per unit.
After you work with the same resources enough, you should begin to get an idea of what they are worth. I recommend selling everything you can on the GTN as often as you can as this is the highest means of income in the game. Hopefully this short guide can help you guys to join the wealthy and stop asking for money like needy beggars lmao. Good luck and feel free to leave any questions here.
